Advocacy and Policy
DoGood Virginia is looking for volunteers to join local advocacy groups that work to influence decisions, shape policies, and mobilize communities. Whether you’re calling lawmakers, meeting with decision-makers, attending peaceful protests, or drafting policy proposals, you’ll be on the front lines of change.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Advocating for Change – Meet with elected officials, testify at hearings, and push for meaningful legislation.
Shaping Policy – Draft proposals, submit public comments, and help turn ideas into laws.
Mobilizing Action – Call, email, and rally support for key issues through protests, events, and outreach.
Building Connections – Collaborate with advocacy groups, community leaders, and decision-makers.
Educating & Engaging – Stay informed, track policies, and help others get involved in the movement.

Roanoke Indivisible is a group of constituents concerned with how national policy may affect their families and neighbors in the Roanoke Valley.
Indivisible New River Valley
NRV Indivisible, started in 2017, is a local chapter of the national Indivisible movement (indivisible.org). We are a progressive group whose goals are to help defeat a rightwing takeover of American government and to build and defend inclusive democracy.
Red, Wine, and Blue Virginia
A community of women standing up to extremism in our local communities and all across our state. How do we do it? By doing something we do every day – talking to our friends, family, and neighbors. We’re using friend-to-friend organizing to make sure everyone in Virginia knows what’s at stake in 2025 (Hint: It’s a lot).

DoGood Virginia is looking for volunteers to join local campaign groups. These groups are on the front lines of shaping our future by supporting and leading localized political campaigns for state officials who share our values. Whether you’re knocking on doors, strategizing behind the scenes, or getting voters to the polls, you’ll be making a direct impact on the democratic process.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Campaigning for candidates – Help elect leaders who stand for justice and progress.
Managing campaign strategies – Assist with planning, messaging, and outreach efforts.
Mobilizing voter outreach – Make calls, send texts, and get out the vote.
Spreading the word – Organize events, social media efforts, and community discussions to raise awareness.
Empowering voters – Educate and inspire people to show up and share their voices.

League of Women Voters of Virginia
The League of Women Voters of Virginia formed November 10, 1920, out of the suffrage movement. The League encourages informed and active participation in government to increase understanding of major public policy issues and to influence public policy through education and advocacy.
Virginia Democratic Women's Caucus
The purpose of the VA Democratic Women’s Caucus is to unite the women of Virginia in support of the women of the Democratic Party and its candidates, encourage full and equal participation of women in the Party, encourage, educate, and finance Democratic women who aspire to public office, and raise awareness of women’s issues in the Commonwealth and the Virginia Democratic Party.
Roanoke County Democratic Committee
The Roanoke County Democratic Committee is made up of Roanoke County residents who work together to promote positive change in our county, our state, and our country by helping to get Democratic candidates elected to public office. Our meetings are open to all Democrats of any age, race, religion, and sexual orientation who live in Roanoke County and who wish to contribute to our community through progressive political action.

The Roanoke City Democratic Party (RCDC) works to promote the Democratic values of those who live in the City of Roanoke and Southwest Virginia. Our goal is to educate people about the Democratic Party and to get leaders elected who have Democratic principles at the local, state, and national level.
