Our <\/span>\u201cHis Votes. Our DeF<\/span><\/span>icit\u201d<\/u> billboard, right across the street from Rep. Cline\u2019s Roanoke Office, is our way of getting the Congressman\u2019s attention.<\/span><\/p>\n DoGood Virginia\u2019s main focus is to promote donations of time, talent, and treasure to the agencies and organizations that provide services and assistance to citizens in need.\u00a0 In other words, we strive to help the helpers.<\/span><\/p>\n When we saw our Rep. Ben Cline enthusiastically support Elon Musk and DOGE as they slashed the appropriated federal dollars slated for our region, we were alarmed.\u00a0 These cuts had an immediate effect on the many agencies we have been striving to help.\u00a0 The full impact of these drastic cuts has yet to be felt.<\/span><\/p>\n Then, on July 3, when we watched Rep. Ben Cline happily vote for the \u201cBig Beautiful Bill\u201d we realized how fully disconnected he is from the needs of his district and constituents. <\/span>https:\/\/www.govtrack.us\/congress\/members\/ben_cline\/412832\/report-card\/2024<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n This bill cuts Medicaid dollars, SNAP benefits, and Education funds that will stress even further the resources, human and financial, that have provided the vitally needed services that keep our communities healthy. <\/span><\/p>\n Opportunities to meet with Rep. Ben Cline with our concerns have been increasingly restrictive. \u00a0 He has offered no town hall meetings. And instead of substantive answers to our written questions and calls, he consistently sends hollow form-letters filled with political pablum.<\/span><\/p>\n
